Old Norwood Park is a charming, historic neighborhood within the larger community of Norwood Park in Cook County, on Chicago’s northwest side. Norwood Park was officially annexed by the City of Chicago in 1893. 
 
Today, Old Norwood Park is known for its beautiful homes and spacious lots, particularly in the sought-after North East Circle, North West Circle, and Newark Avenues. Zia’s Social offers regional Italian cuisine with a twist, featuring a wood-burning pizza oven and a regularly updated menu with seasonal ingredients. With plenty of seating, it's a great spot for private parties. It also has plans to expand to an indoor/outdoor patio that could host up to 150 guests. Live music, a fun bar atmosphere, and tasty brunch, dinner, drinks, and appetizers make Zia's Social uniquely enjoyable.

Things to Do

The Norwood Park, Memorial Day Parade, is an annual event that has been a local tradition since 1922. The route starts at Onahan School and winds through the community, ending at Taft High School. The parade includes flag-raising, live musical performances, and the presentation of wreaths. 
 
Another significant parade in the Norwood neighborhood is The Northwest Side Irish Parade. This annual parade celebrates St. Patrick’s Day and has been a tradition for over 16 years. With an average of over 100 parade participants each year and thousands of attendees, the Northwest Side Irish Parade is a highly memorable community event. 
 
Norwood Park is a 16.23-acre park featuring an outdoor swimming pool with a water slide, perfect for summer day camps and young swimmers. The park also offers youth sports programs, music and craft classes, a fitness center, a running track, tennis courts, and an outdoor inline skating area. Special events include outdoor movies, Halloween parties, and an annual Dinner with Santa. 
 
William Howard Taft High School was notably the inspiration for the famous musical, Grease. Today, the high school showcases a variety of holiday chorale performances, live theatrical productions, and high school athletics games that are open to the public.
